A work on the science of hadith, by Jamal al-Din al-Qasimi (Syria, 1866-1914). Qasimi was a leading Islamic modernist. He argued the Muslims should overcome historical divisions in law and sects, and instead return to the Qur'an and Hadith and Sunnah as the basis of authority.
