Classical: Imam Shafi'i
Early writings, in Arabic, of Imam Shafi'i ( 150/767 - 204/820 ), the famous Muslim jurist. The Shafi'i Madhab (school of Islamic law) is named after him. He is considered the founder of Islamic jurisprudence.
