Early Arabic poetry of Jarir bin Atiyah bin Hudhayfah al-Khatfi bin Badr al-Kalbi al-Yarboui (33/653 - 110/728), from Tamim. The most poetic man of his time. He was born and died in al-Yamamah. He lived his entire life competing with the poets of his time and debating them - and he was a bitter satirist - and no one stood before him except al-Farazdaq and al-Akhtal. He was chaste, and he was one of the most eloquent poets.
