Description of Africa , the author of this book is Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad Al-Wazzan Al-Fasi, nicknamed Leo Africanus . He combined the qualities that made Western Christians rely on him as a primary source on Africa throughout the modern era. This book (Description of Africa) is the third and only remaining section of a large book in Arabic, which Al-Hasan Al-Wazzan himself translated into Italian or relied on to create Description of Africa in Italian. Al-Wazzan divided it into nine sections. In the first section, there are details related to the general geography of Africa, its climate, the characteristics of its peoples and their morals. He divided Africa vertically into four parts based on its botanical and economic characteristics. As for the following seven sections of Description of Africa, he dealt in detail with the four original parts of Africa and its sub-regions, and in the ninth section, he returned to mentioning the general geographical phenomena of Africa, indicating its rivers, animals and plants.(Wikipedia)
