Over the years—and unlike with any of my previous books—readers have continued to ask me: "What happened next to Eddie and Annie?" Although I had never before written a sequel to any of my previous works, I felt there was a natural story to be found in Eddie’s transition from meeting five people to becoming, himself, one of the five people whom someone else meets.
